The mission statement of the McIntosh County Nutrition Department is to be a partner in the educational process by providing high quality, nutritious meals that appeal to students and staff, and providing nutrition education learning opportunities that promote good health and the implementation of the local wellness policy.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The McIntosh County School Nutrition Program is fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in CEP. The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 includes the implementation of CEP to ensure that every student in low income neighborhoods can participate in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. By Participating in CEP, all students in grades PK-12 will automatically eat breakfast and lunch at no cost, without filling out a lunch application. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to supporting student well-being and academic success by ensuring that no child goes hungry at school.
