The mission statement of the McIntosh County Nutrition Department is to be a partner in the educational process by providing high quality, nutritious meals that appeal to students and staff, and providing nutrition education learning opportunities that promote good health and the implementation of the local wellness policy.   


Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)  

The McIntosh County School Nutrition Program is fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in CEP.  The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 includes the implementation of CEP to ensure that every student in low income neighborhoods can participate in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.  By Participating in CEP, all students in grades PK-12 will automatically eat breakfast and lunch at no cost, without filling out a lunch application.   

 

           Mission of the Georgia School Nutrition Program:
Provide leadership, training and technical assistance, and resources so that local program personnel may deliver quality meals and education that contribute to the nutritional well-being of Georgians and their performance at work and school.



Vision of the Georgia School Nutrition Program:
Be the authority and resource for Georgia school nutrition programs so that every child in school has healthy choices, every day.
